Sports betting operator TOTO has partnered with the Azerion Vrouwen Eredivisie, the women’s top football league in the Netherlands. The duration of the partnership has not been announced.
As a result of the deal, an additional 22 matches will be broadcast live on ESPN Netherlands.
“Thanks to our cooperation with TOTO, we can significantly increase the visibility and commercial value of this competition,” said Dave Dekker, Commercial Director at Dutch football association KNVB.
Although the press release is dated August 29, the announcement notes that the partnership agreement was concluded prior to July 1, 2023.
Online betting sponsorships concluded after that date are not allowed in the Netherlands in anticipation of a full ban on such agreements from July 1, 2025 onward.
