Building on the success of The Overlap YouTube channel, Sky Bet and Gary Neville are to grow their award-winning partnership, with the announcement of a new weekly football series featuring the England legend and some familiar friends.
The show will see the former Manchester United captain joined by Jamie Carragher, Jill Scott, Ian Wright and Roy Keane to dissect the biggest talking points in football and host feature interviews with names from the worlds of sport, music and entertainment.
The show will be available in full on The Overlap YouTube channel and will also be available as podcast on all leading podcast platforms.
The first episode will go live on Wednesday 27th September. Similar to The Overlap’s existing content, Stick to Football will be brought to audiences by Sky Bet.
Neville and Sky Bet announced a three-year extension to their partnership in February, which will see the Flutter-owned bookmaker continue to sponsor The Overlap YouTube channel until at least 2026. Created in April 2021, The Overlap quickly gained attention for its big-name interviews and high-quality production values.
The Overlap received industry recognition in 2022, picking up the “Best YouTube Sports Show” at the Sports Journalism Awards, and the “YouTube Channel of the Year” at the Sports Broadcast Awards.
In February, the show moved to a state-of-the-art studio home in Greater Manchester.
Gary Neville said: “I’m very excited to renew my partnership with Sky Bet, that has seen us become one of the most watched football channels on YouTube. I am looking forward to speaking to even more brilliant people, in the world of football and beyond!”
Kevin Brain, Head of Content and Social at Sky Bet, said: “We’re delighted to be able to extend our partnership with Gary and The Overlap team. We know that fans can’t get enough of quality football content and we’re proud to play our part in making it happen. I’m personally really excited to see this new line up in action together.”
Katy Leeson, CEO of Relentless Media, said: “Our partnership with Sky Bet has seen us speak to some of the best talent in football and sport, with insightful, in-depth interviews with athletes that our viewers wouldn’t see anywhere else. Seeing Gary team up with the new line-up for Stick To Football will bring a regularity to our output, whilst maintaining the high-quality content that our fans associate with The Overlap.”
