Stuart Hunter, Managing Director for Clarion Gaming, has confirmed the organisation’s ongoing support for CHIPS, the gaming industry charity that has raised over £3 million to fund the purchase of wheelchairs for children with severe mobility issues.
Speaking during the annual CHIPS Golf Tournament, which featured three Clarion Gaming teams, Hunter said: “We are delighted to continue our long-standing relationship with Linda Lindsay and the team at CHIPS.
“At each edition of ICE we have presented two chairs to CHIPS recipients and that commitment will continue when ICE relocates to Barcelona in 2025, albeit with the physical handover taking place at a special VIP event for the families held closer to home.
“CHIPS has presented an amazing 700 wheel chairs; a landmark achievement that has changed the lives of so many children and their families. Everyone at Clarion Gaming is so proud to support such a wonderful organisation that was born out of the land-based gaming sector and continues to do such invaluable and humbling work.”
Responding to the announcement, Lindsay said: “On behalf of the charity and my fellow trustees, I would like to place on the record my sincere thanks to Stuart and the entire team at Clarion Gaming for their continued and generous support.
“CHIPS would not exist if it wasn’t for the support of industry brands such as Clarion Gaming who enable us to give youngsters the twin gifts of independence and freedom.
“The demand from families has never been greater, which is why I’m so proud to confirm that 100% of every donation goes towards the purchase of wheelchairs. No one associated with CHIPS claims a penny in expenses, which is exactly the way it should be.”
