This Tuesday, the 5th, the Special Subcommittee on the Modernization of Football of the Sports Commission welcomes the CEO of Sport Integrity Global Alliance Emanuel Medeiros to discuss integrity in football.
The debate was requested by Deputy Bandeira de Mello (PSB-RJ), who had extensive experience in the most popular sport in Brazil when he presided over Flamengo.
The parliamentarian explained that, in February this year, four Brazilian clubs (Atlético Mineiro, Athletico, São Paulo and Vasco da Gama) launched the Movement for Integrity in Football.

The main objective of the Movement is “to guarantee the improvement of management through governance, transparency, sustainability, ESG, ethics, integrity, inclusion and diversity”.
“Whether within the “four lines” or not, football produces social values that are unequivocally reproduced, in some way, by its target audience”, highlighted the parliamentarian.
According to Agência Câmara de Notícias, the debate will take place at 10 am, in plenary 4.
Sports betting CPI and the case of Paquetá and Luiz Henrique
The sports betting CPI approved requirements that invited two Brazilian players who work in Europe to testify: Lucas Paquetá, from West Ham, and Luiz Henrique, from Betis.
However, the athletes did not respond to contacts made by the Chamber of Deputies commission.
According to the Panorama Esportivo from O Globo this Thursday, 30, parliamentarians must vote on two summons requests for athletes to be heard as suspects.
The request for a statement was made by Deputy Felipe Carreras (PSB/PE), rapporteur for the CPI. He does not rule out the possibility of players testifying by videoconference.
The invitations to Paquetá and Luiz Henrique were approved last week, after information was revealed about their alleged involvement in a betting scheme.
